But seriously, there is absolutely no pressure at all! Just you being here and sharing these quiet moments with me means the absolute world 🧡 :) Behind the scenes: So I went on this walk with my sister and our boyfriends!! It was super fun having them there with me and you might be able to spot them waving in the video haha. This day was very busy so I had to make quite a few cuts due to interruptions, so I hope you don't mind :) I filmed this back in April when I was still at home so its nice looking back on the footage. Hope you like it :)) 📜 The deep magic and ancient folklore of Glenariff Forest (The Queen of the Glens)💧✨ Welcome to Glenariff, universally known as the "Queen of the Glens," a spectacular and deeply enchanted corner of County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Every mist-shrouded tree and rushing cascade in this forest is saturated with ancient Irish folklore. This is not just a landscape; it is a sacred space where the veil between our world and the realm of the Faerie Folk (the Aos Sí) is said to be thinnest... and you can truly feel the magic when you're in it!! The most prominent legends involve the Queen of the Fairies, who is believed to keep her courts and treasuries hidden beneath the mossy, emerald-green banks near the waterfalls. The constant, soothing sound of the falling water you hear in this soundscape is said by many to be the Sí music—the music of the fairy mounds, used to soothe and, to lure travelers off the path. It is considered extremely unlucky to disturb any natural feature here, as this could incur the wrath of the Faerie Queen, who demands respect for her territory. She's just like me forreal. The spectacular cascades themselves hold powerful names tied directly to the drama of the Glens: two of the most famous are Ess-Na-Larach, the Mare's Fall, and Ess-Na-Crub, the Fall of the Hooves. According to local folklore, the name Ess-Na-Larach originates from a specific, tragic event: a fierce battle fought on the slippery banks above the gorge. During the chaos, horses—some say mythical, giant warhorses—were driven over the edge, tumbling to their fate in the thundering water below. When you listen to the powerful, ceaseless rhythm of the waterfall, you are hearing the echoes of these legendary beasts and the tumultuous events that shaped the Glens. This area is tied to the epic legends of the Giant, Fionn mac Cumhaill and the Fianna. According to some tales, the legendary warrior-poet Oisín, who traveled to the mystical land of Tír na nÓg, was raised in a glen much like Glenariff. When you immerse yourself in the deep, powerful sounds of the forest, you are following the footsteps of these ancient heroes and encountering the same magical atmosphere they knew.
