🚗⚡🎸 FIRE UP THE DELOREAN 🎸⚡🚗 Front Porch Light Original

Well... this one didn't go quite the way I expected. 😂 It started with me saying, “I need a DeLorean.” I was thinking about going back to a time when life seemed a little simpler. When families spent more time in the same room. When kids rode bicycles until somebody hollered “LET'S EAT!” When neighbors knew each other, Grandma was in the kitchen, Grandpa had his chair, and if you acted a fool three streets over, your mama somehow knew about it before you got home. 😂 And, of course, I wanted to go back to when the music was GOOD. 🎸 So I thought we'd write a fun, nostalgic Southern-rock song about firing up a DeLorean and heading backward through time. And it ISN'T a sad song. But I'll tell you something... I bawled like a baby writing it. Because somewhere between the old radios, screen doors and Sunday dinners, I realized something. I don't really want to go back for the stuff. I want to go back for the people. The ones who aren't sitting at the table anymore. The voices I'd give anything to hear from another room. The babies who aren't babies anymore. The ordinary days I didn't know were extraordinary while I was living them. There's a line in this song that absolutely got me: “Just give me one ordinary Tuesday Before goodbye meant anything.” WHEW. ❤️ Wouldn't that be something? Not to go back and change history. Not to fix anything. Just one ordinary day. One more supper. One more song. One more front-porch evening. One more chance to sit in the room with everybody we loved when they were still close enough to reach. Then bring me home. So turn this one UP. It's got some old-school Southern-rock grit, guitars, nostalgia and a little attitude—but underneath all of it is something I think a whole lot of us understand.
