The Perfect Ending: Blue Marlin on His Own Lure Tonga Part 5

That’s a wrap on Tonga — and what a way to finish it. This is Part 5 of the Tonga series, and the final day couldn’t have played out much better. The goal from the start was simple… get Wes a blue marlin on the lure he designed himself — and somehow, it all came together right at the end. We started the morning full of energy, re-rigged the spread after a big few days on the water, and got the lures back in. It didn’t take long before things kicked off — birds, bait, and then a solid strike… and sure enough, Wes was on the rod. After an awesome fight, we managed to land a blue marlin on his own lure. Pretty special moment and definitely one we won’t forget anytime soon. The day didn’t stop there either — another marlin hooked not long after, plenty of action, and then a proper change of pace to finish the trip off exploring Swallow Cave, one of the coolest spots we’ve seen over here.
