We choose instead to slow down, making room for discovery and understanding. We take you behind the scenes of what it takes to build a fashion show and meet the talented people who make it possible! The Zalando Visionary Award is an annual fashion prize that meaningfully supports emerging designers who challenge conventions through innovative design, sustainability and positive social impact. This year's winner is Galib Gassanoff, a Georgian designer of Azerbaijani descent, who moved to Milan at 18 to study fashion. He is the founder of Institution, a creative project translating cultural heritage, textile traditions and endangered artisanal techniques of his native lands into contemporary clothing. The Zalando Visionary Space opened their doors to the public with a series of activations, including fashion workshops hosted by previous winners, who shared their knowledge with the community. Visitors could also gather around a conversation pit to watch the livestream of the Institution SS27 fashion show, alongside many other activities fostering open conversations about culture and the fashion industry. We take you behind the scenes of both, exploring the creative concept behind the set design, the history of carpets sourced from all over the world, even asking Galib why he made a look with Georgian coins.
