Thank you for watching!
Today, I got my hands on the viral "EXPO 2025 Black Myaku-Myaku Hipparidako-Meshi" (2,480 JPY incl. tax) by Awajiya! 🐙🖤🤍
*About Myaku-Myaku & The Ekiben:
Myaku-Myaku was the beloved official mascot of the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, becoming an absolute sensation across Japan. Later in the expo's run, an edgy "Black Myaku-Myaku" version debuted and sparked another huge wave of popularity!
This special collaboration is with "Hipparidako-Meshi", a legendary Japanese Ekiben (railway bento) served inside a real collectible ceramic octopus pot.

Unlike the previous colorful version, this one features a stylish, minimalist monochrome design: a sleek white ceramic pot printed with the striking Black Myaku-Myaku!
Inside, you'll find Awajiya's authentic, comforting signature recipe: seasoned rice infused with savory soy sauce, topped with a giant simmered tender octopus, simmered conger eel, rapeseed greens, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots, and shredded omelet.
Buried at the bottom of the rice is their famous hidden deep-fried octopus nugget (tako-ten), making it deeply satisfying to the very last bite 😋
