Rallies in Paris largely peaceful in third week of nationwide movement

October 31 rallies organised around the country recorded some 320,000 demonstrators according to police figures. The planned and authorised route of the march in Paris was outside the city centre for security conerns, the government has said, but many protesters we spoke to rose concerns about civil liberties being trampled on. Demonstrators, like Ousmanne, told us how the movement was not yet over. Reporting in Paris for France 24, first aired 31 October 2026. #protests #students #GenZ #paris #october31 #france #news #france24 #foreigncorrespondent
