Honda Rebel 500 Chasing the sunset on an evening ride

Come along for a Honda Rebel 500 sunset ride through the Norfolk countryside as I chase the setting sun and try to make it home before daylight disappears completely. There’s something special about riding at this time of day. As the sun sinks towards the horizon, the light constantly changes from bright daylight to golden evening and eventually into darkness. Visibility can certainly become a challenge as the sun gets lower, but riding through the countryside with the sky changing above you is an incredible experience. With the Honda Rebel 500 parallel twin singing away and the exhaust note echoing through the countryside, this was one of those rides that makes you feel properly alive. The gentle twists and turns of the rural roads, the changing light and the feeling of chasing the sunset all combine to make this a particularly memorable motorcycle ride. The route I'm riding here, which I've nicknamed the Rural Route, could certainly be ridden faster and harder. But that's not what this ride was about. While it might be fun to attack these roads on a race bike, I wouldn't want to push my little Honda Rebel 500 cruiser much harder than this. There's another very good reason for keeping the pace sensible at this time of day too — wildlife. As daylight fades, the possibility of a deer suddenly appearing around the next bend, or even standing in the middle of the road, becomes a very real consideration when riding rural and country roads. It's a good reminder that there's more to enjoying a motorcycle ride than simply going as fast as possible. So this ride is about enjoying the Honda Rebel 500, listening to that parallel twin and exhaust, taking in the countryside and watching the day slowly turn into night.
