Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
RoboCop 2 was a film divisive for its change of director and more tongue-in-cheek tone, but it was still a RoboCop movie, and a decent-enough sequel.
This game, however, is less divisive, and more of an oddity. Despite featuring RoboCop, this weird platform game could have been anything. The objective of each stage is to recover sufficient quantities Nuke, the designer drug featured in the movie, and rescuing hostages. Failure to do so forces you into a basic shooting gallery for the purposes of "recalibration", and whilst it looks reasonable, it's all rather dull.
The fact the developers gave RoboCop inertia suggests that, at its heart, this is more of a Super Mario clone than anything else. There's aot of running and jumping, and I'm almost half surprised they don't have Robo hitting blocks with his head to release jars of baby food.
I don't actually hate this game, but it's not a good RoboCop game. It might feature some of the branding and iconography, but it just doesn't hit the mark.
