Halsey's Rabaul Gamble Stopped Japan Without Sinking a Single Heavy Cruiser

On November 5, 1943, Admiral William "Bull" Halsey made one of the boldest gambles of the Pacific War, sending carrier aircraft from USS Saratoga and USS Princeton against the heavily defended Japanese base at Rabaul.
