MINATO WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!!! | The Ramparts of Ice S1 Episode 11 to S2 Episode 3 Live Reaction!

I had so many things I wanted to talk about. Koyuki using Igarashi and if Igarashi is truly bad (I argue yes he still made mistakes and is not great but Koyuki should not have used him as a tool for revenge). I wanted to talk about how Manatsu is the definition of trash. I REALLY wanted to talk how I feel awful for Yota on an emotional and personal level and I wanetd to also defend Miki's decision though I'm sure it left us upset and of course broke Yota's heart.... But sadly I am forced to talk about Minato's character regression and arguably one of the worse decisions Ihave had the displeasure of seeing in this entire series. Everyone myself included hates Momoka and understandably so. But only Minato can be blamed for agreeing to date Momoka. She hit every sore point for him and I understand this was of course her goal...but no one forced Minato to agree to date her. Unlike in the past where Minato had no one he liked and didn't understand the reprocusions of just dating people, now Minato has context and clarity. Via Miki he DOES know how his accepting confessions comes off as demeaning when he doesn't really like the person, how he leads people on and Minato has grown soooo much because of this. AND he now actively has a girl he likes. Even if she does not like him from his vantage point the feelings are all there. SO why date Momoka? Because sadness over Koyuki, general frustration and pushing back that there is no problem with his ideals (as seen in the Yota conversation at the restaurant) lead him to see a girl crying and wanting a connection...so he dug in and said why shouldn't I. The problem is Minato doesn't realize when he makes these decisions he NEVER choose the option that makes HIM happy. He chooses to be a people pleaser and try to make others happy....but if you can't make yourself happy how do you expect to make others happy? In the end he is miserable and will force the issue to be her GF as seen in episode 3, Momoka is going to get tired of him and dump him and make his life hell, and Koyuki will also suffer because of the unrequited love of a friend, the first time she has actively liked someone all while he continues to give signals that he likes her. This is a mess and only Minato can fix this but he needs to wake up and realize he needs to be happy and make the choice to pursue his happiness.
