A walk through Shibuya, Tokyo — the parts you'd actually walk through, not the ones on a postcard. With a few footnotes along the way. Starting from the world-famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing, this walk cuts through the elevated train lines, up into MIYASHITA PARK (a full shopping complex with a rooftop lawn park on top of it), through the regional food stalls of Shibuya Yokocho, and back down past a stationery shop and a plastic food display or two. Shibuya is Tokyo's youth culture and fashion hub, but it's also full of small, easy-to-miss details — from how the city's food alleys are laid out by region, to why a shop window full of "food" might not be food at all. Japan Footnotes is for anyone who's already seen the postcard version of Japan and wants the rest of it — quiet 4K walks through real neighborhoods, paired with on-screen footnotes: cultural context, sign translations, and the small details a guidebook won't tell you.
