In this video, I’m bringing you along for my last week on my first year WHV in Australia — finishing both of my jobs in Airlie Beach, sailing the Whitsundays for the first time and soaking up my final few days before leaving Australia. 🇦🇺🥹
Welcome to Episode 24 of my WHV Australia series!
After moving from the UK to Australia at 28 years old on a Working Holiday Visa, I somehow made it to the end of my first year — and this week was honestly the BEST way I could have finished it.
I say goodbye to both of my jobs in Airlie Beach and also open up about how I’ve been feeling lately, realising I’m starting to reach burnout after trying to balance work, travelling, creating content and everything else going on in my life.
But we definitely ended my first year in Australia on a high...
I went sailing in the Whitsundays for the first time! ⛵️🌊
On the same day I went turtle spotting on Pigeon Island (nearly got stranded) and then I got the call to go sailing! and they actually let ME DRIVE the sailing boat...
We raced against the other boats... and OUR TEAM WON. 🏆
We somehow ended the day winning the sailing race AND coming away with three awards — honestly one of the most fun and unexpected ways I could have spent one of my final days in Australia.
Looking back at my first year on a Working Holiday Visa in Australia, it feels surreal to think about how much has changed.
From moving to Australia alone from the UK, struggling to find my feet at the beginning, finding work, making friends and eventually building a life in Airlie Beach that became so difficult to leave.
This year has taught me so much about trusting myself, following my intuition, getting outside of my comfort zone and going after the life I actually want to create for myself.
My first year WHV definitely hasn’t always been easy, but it has been one of the biggest and best experiences of my life — and this definitely isn’t the end of my Australia journey...🤍
