How to rig an election without getting caught

As part of the College of Social Sciences inaugural lecture series, we are delighted to present the inaugural lecture of Nic Cheeseman, Professor of Democracy. Drawing on lessons from elections in countries as diverse as Brazil, India, Nigeria, Russia, and the United States, Professor Cheeseman will discuss the limitations of national elections as a means of promoting democratisation, revealing the six essential strategies that dictators use to undermine the electoral process in order to guarantee victory.
