After battling a record-breaking 39°C (102°F) heatwave across more than 500 km (310 miles) in a single day, emerging from the Loibl Pass tunnel into the cool Slovenian dusk was pure relief. This marks Day 1 of my 4-day solo tour through Slovenia.
