Daniel Gay is a development economist from the UK. After 25 years in international Institutions, such as the United States Economic department, he is today self-employed and is consulting them. He is the author of the book „Reflexivity and Development Economics: Methodology, Policy and Practice" (https://link.springer.com/book/10.105...) as well of the Blog „Economics for the Real World“ (https://dangay.substack.com/).
In our talk Dan is explaining the shortcomings of multilateral institutions and the growing fractionalization of the world order and its consequences for less developed countries - and how we have to unite academical theory with practical experiences. We will talk about his specialization on small Island Developing Countries and his first experiences on Vanuatu and their future.
