Today we’re finally tackling the floors of my abandoned general store! After clearing out years of old furniture, antiques, and junk, I brought in a moving crew to help get everything out of the way so we could actually start working. Once the store was cleared, it was time to begin removing the old flooring and preparing the space for new floor joists. There was one pretty nerve-wracking moment when I had to cut out the floor around the store’s antique elevator and I was definitely worried about what might happen! The painters also came in this week, so for the first time, the abandoned general store is really starting to look like the vision I’ve had for it. There’s still SO much work ahead, but we’re finally making some major progress on restoring this old building and bringing the general store back to life.
