In February 1951, fewer than 5,000 American and French soldiers were surrounded by an estimated 25,000 Chinese troops at a crossroads village in Korea. They refused to retreat, and they won.
The Battle of Chipyong-ni (13-15 February 1951) is often called "the Gettysburg of the Korean War." Follow Lt. Paul McGee's platoon on the bloody hill that would carry his name, and see how Col. Paul Freeman's 23rd Infantry Regiment, Lt. Col. Ralph Monclar's French Battalion, and the tanks of Task Force Crombez broke the Chinese Fourth Phase Offensive and proved that China could be stopped.
