Be the Bridge (Gospel Soul) | a song about real leadership

Hunters trapped eighty thousand monkeys. Their king made his body into a bridge. Hunters surrounded a mango tree full of monkeys. Their king leapt across the river, tied a vine to his feet and stretched his own body across the gap so every monkey could run over him to safety, even when it hurt. 🎵 Be the Bridge · Gospel Soul 📖 Inspired by an ancient tale from India. ▶ Playlist: Self Improvement Songs 🪴 Little Lessons, Big Change — Lyrics — Long ago, hunters trapped a whole tribe of monkeys. Their king didn't run. He became a bridge. He leapt across the river wide He tied the vine on the other side Too short, too short, but he held on tight And made himself a bridge that night Be the bridge, be the bridge Let somebody cross over you When the river's wide and the night is dark Lead with your back and your heart That's what a leader is Be the bridge They ran across his aching back Not one was left, not one fell back A leader's not the one on top It's the one who holds and doesn't stop Be the bridge, be the bridge Let somebody cross over you When the river's wide and the night is dark Lead with your back and your heart That's what a leader is Be the bridge 🕯️ Old Soul Hour: wisdom songs for hard days.
