Previously, I have edited several documentaries on Spirit Worship form. But was not satisfied and thought I had not brought out the best. So presenting this video with new footage recorded mostly on 4K. I hope you like this short film. Please share and subscribe.
Spirit worship, commonly referred to as Bhuta Kola or Daiva Nema, is a shamanistic Hindu ritual-performance prevalent in the Tulu Nadu region of India. It is non-Vedic ritual, meaning it does not follow the practices and rituals outlined in the Vedas, the sacred texts of Hinduism. During these rituals, participants invoke and interact with 'bhutas' or 'daivas,' believed to be spiritual entities or deities. Shrouded in the mists of time, origins of Bhutha worship remain a mystery. Despite being an ancient practice, this form of worship continues to thrive in Tulunadu.
Thanks to Dr. Ashok Alva, Folklorist, Researcher, for providing me with details needed on Bhutha Rituals.
