Cosmic Bonsai

Interview with Laurent Darrieux, the originator of "Cosmic Bonsai," a style that is bounded only by the artist's imagination. Laurent discusses his inspirations, techniques and artistic rationale -- and the blowback he has received from the bonsai establishment. But while Darrieux has been branded a heretic in Europe, the American bonsai community has welcomed his fresh take on artistry in bonsai. Darrieux was interviewed at the 2025 Bonsai Societies of Florida Convention in Orlando, FL, held from May 23-25, where he was the headliner. It is his last public appearance as a bonsai master, for reasons he explains in the video.
