We finally made it. All six kits are now fully maxed at Level X, and we're finishing off the first round of my Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 build series with my personal favorite new addition to the game, the Specialist.
The Specialist is easily one of the most interesting kits because it's the only one that allows you to use perks from all of the other kits. That gives you a ton of freedom to build around different teams, missions, difficulties and Challenge Cards.
For my first Level X Specialist build, I wanted something that could do a little bit of everything without sacrificing damage. We're going with high DPS and stopping power while still bringing enough support to help keep the entire Fireteam in the fight, especially now that we're moving into Intense Difficulty and higher.
Loadout:
Primary – BD-16 Begho Auto Rifle
• High Rate of Fire Setup
Signature – X43A Barrage Flechette SMG
• High Rate of Fire Setup
I'm back on the Begho because after maxing every kit and using this thing across so many different builds, it's still one of my favorite weapons in the game. I'm building it around a high rate of fire again, and paired with the Flechette doing the same thing, you've got two weapons capable of putting out a ridiculous amount of damage very quickly.
The X43A Barrage Flechette SMG has already proven itself in my Medic build, and it works just as well here. High fire rate, great damage and plenty of stopping power when things start getting close.
But what really makes the Specialist interesting is the perk combination.
For this build, I'm using:
• Guardian Turret
• Dead Eye
• Trauma Station with the Buffing Station modifier
Guardian Turret and Dead Eye give me the stopping power and offensive side I want while I'm unloading with the Begho and Flechette. Then I'm pairing all of that with Buffing Station on the Trauma Station to give the squad some extra support when the fight starts getting nasty.
That's going to become even more important from here on out because we're moving into Intense Difficulty and higher.
At those difficulties, I don't just want a build that looks good when everything is going right. I want something that can adapt when things start going wrong. Different teammates are going to bring different kits and different playstyles, so I wanted my first Specialist build to be something I could drop into almost any Fireteam and still contribute wherever we're lacking.
Need damage? I've got it.
Need stopping power and battlefield control? I've got it.
Need some extra support to keep everybody in the fight? I've got that too.
That's what I like so much about the Specialist. You're not locked into doing one thing. You can pull from the strengths of the other kits and put together something that fits the situation you're actually walking into.
This is my first fully maxed Specialist setup, but it definitely won't be my last. Now that every kit is Level X and we're moving into the harder difficulties, I'll be putting together more Specialist builds for different scenarios, missions and Challenge Cards along with more builds for the other kits.
This is where the real build testing starts.
