Stepping off the train at Nakano Station, we head straight through the lively Sun Mall arcade and wander into the legendary Nakano Broadway. This was my first time exploring this retro multi-level mall, and with no planned route, I just let the sights, nostalgia, and unique layout lead the way. To respect local shop policies and the privacy of vendors, I opted not to film inside individual stores, as some have "No Recording" signs posted outside. Filmed in the morning before the massive midday crowds arrive, you can feel the calm, nostalgic atmosphere of the building waking up, with some of the shopkeepers just starting to roll up their doors.
