Final Fantasy VIII - Shuffle or Boogie (Triple Triad Music Video)

🃏🎺 SHUFFLE BOOGIE 🎺🃏 Shuffle your decks, ladies and gentlemen... It's time for Triple Triad! Welcome to "Shuffle Boogie," an original high-energy funk and soul reimagining inspired by one of the most recognizable pieces of music from Final Fantasy VIII. If you've ever spent way too much time wandering around the world of Final Fantasy VIII challenging everyone you could find to a game of Triple Triad, you already know exactly what this song is about. I took Nobuo Uematsu's wonderfully playful "Shuffle or Boogie" and transformed its spirit into a full-blown funk soul shuffle: swinging drums, walking bass, electric piano, clavinet, jazzy guitar, handclaps, and a powerful brass section trading riffs and shouting back at the vocals. The result is a song about cards, strategy, stealing corners, flipping your opponent's cards, and that wonderful moment when you realize you've just completely outplayed someone. Triple Triad may look simple... But we all know better. All it takes is one card in the right spot at the right time and the whole game has changed! 🎺 Shuffle your deck. 🃏 Play the card. 🔥 Take the board. 🎶 And Shuffle-Boogie all night long! This is part of my ongoing Re:Verse VGM ReImagined project, where I create entirely original full-length songs inspired by the characters, locations, themes, music, and unforgettable moments from the world of video games. ────────────────── ABOUT THE ORIGINAL "Shuffle or Boogie" was composed by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu for Final Fantasy VIII and is the music that plays during Triple Triad matches. It's one of the most wonderfully catchy pieces that becomes permanently associated with the card game, as you hear it play during every card battle! Triple Triad itself is Final Fantasy VIII's famous 3×3 card game, where players place cards onto a grid and use the numbers on each side of their cards to capture their opponent's cards. What begins as a simple little minigame quickly became of of Square's most pleasing card games that has been remade and revised numerous times! Nobuo Uematsu is, once again, a mad genius. His ability to create music that can make even a fictional card game feel like an unforgettable part of an adventure is one of the many reasons his Final Fantasy soundtracks remain so beloved. ────────────────── ABOUT THE SONG "Shuffle Boogie" is my original funk soul interpretation inspired by "Shuffle or Boogie." I wanted to take the playful spirit of the original and turn the dial all the way up: a tight shuffle groove, funky electric bass, jazzy piano, rhythmic guitar, handclaps, and a prominent brass section trading punches with the vocals. The lyrics are written as a playful celebration of Triple Triad itself, with a little bit of friendly trash talk thrown in for good measure. ────────────────── LYRICS Shuffle your decks, ladies and gentlemen...
