What Is It Like to Walk Lucerne's Old Town at Sunset?

Switzerland walking tour in 4K: a Lucerne old town walk from the Reuss to Lake Lucerne at sunset, without music or voiceover. This walk picks up where the previous Lucerne video ended, at the foot of the Chapel Bridge, on a summer evening. It follows the Rathausquai along the Reuss, past café terraces, with the Jesuit Church, the Chapel Bridge and the Water Tower across the river. The Chapel Bridge is a covered wooden bridge dating from the 14th century. From the quay the route climbs the steps to the Kornmarkt and the arcades of the town hall, passes the Zunfthaus zur Metzgern and comes out on the Weinmarkt, with its painted facades and the fountain in the middle of the square. From there the walk winds through the old town lanes, crosses a small square with a fountain and briefly passes through the almost empty shopping streets before heading towards the Schweizerhofquai, where the twin towers of the Hofkirche St. Leodegar appear in the distance. At the lakefront a steamboat lies at the pier, boats come and go, and Mount Pilatus rises across Lake Lucerne. The last part was filmed about half an hour later the same evening: a swan by the pier, a Swiss flag, an excursion boat passing the harbour and pink clouds over the mountains as the sun goes down. Only the original sound was recorded: footsteps, voices from the terraces, traffic on the quay, water and boats.
