Back in late 1995, Bethesda Softworks released Terminator: Future Shock, the first fully 3D first-person shooter with true 3D environments, polygon enemies, and mouse look, beating Quake to the punch. (drivable vehicles to boot!)
Running the old DOS version in 2026 can be a bit rough on the eyes, but thanks to a recent source port by developer nemo22 using the Godot engine, both Future Shock and its follow-up Skynet can run smoothly at high resolutions with modern mouse and keyboard controls.
In this video, I walk through how to set up the Godot source port using your original game data and take a look at how Future Shock and Skynet play today.
