English translation:
It is love, so save your heart: passion is no easy thing;
none it has wasted ever chose it in his right mind.
Live free of it, for the only rest love gives is toil:
its onset is sickness, and its end is slaying.
Yet to me, dying of it in longing
is life, a grace my Beloved bestows on me.
I warned you, knowing love; but in truth my view
is that you defy me, so choose what is sweet to you.
If you would live in bliss, then die of it
a martyr; if not, love has others worthy of it.
O loved ones of my heart, love is my intercessor
with you; if you permit, through love the bond is joined.
Perhaps you will turn to me with one tender glance,
for the messengers between us have grown weary.
