On the night of April 18, 2026, the artist MEITEI offered a dedicated performance on the main stage of the Hondo. Having spent his twenties in Kyoto, MEITEI has consistently gazed upon the question of "What is Japan?" through his own eyes, sublimating his findings into musical expression. Under his conceptual theme of "Lost Japanese Mood," he explores the sounds, landscapes, and memories he encountered—focusing his musical practice amongst the ancient, self-evident, yet subtle and profound (Yūbi) worlds that still linger within Japan. Now, having returned to Kyoto, the city that laid the foundation for his artistic identity, he offered this performance as a culmination of his journey thus far. 2026年4月18日、本堂舞台においてアーティスト・冥丁氏が奉納演奏を行いました。 20代を京都で過ごした冥丁氏は、「日本とは何か」を自身の目で見つめ続け、音楽という表現へと昇華させてきました。そこで出会った音、風景、記憶から「失日本」という解釈を掲げ、日本に古くから現存する、自明でありながらも幽微な世界に焦点を当てた音楽活動を続けています。 表現者としての礎を築いた京都の街に再び拠点を移した今、現在の冥丁氏の集大成として臨まれました。
