"I Couldn't Reach the Abandoned Cottages... Here's What Happened"

This week's adventure didn't quite go according to plan! My goal was to reach the abandoned cottages of Glassdrummand townland in the Mourne Mountains, but thick overgrown thorn bushes and difficult access meant I had to abandon the original route. After speaking with a local resident, I learned the path is usually cut back around this time of year, so I'll definitely be returning in the coming weeks to try again. Rather than call it a day, I headed to Leitrim Lodge where I captured drone footage of the Mourne Mountains and the areas affected by the recent gorse fires. It was encouraging to see fresh green growth already returning just a few weeks after the fires. The adventure continued at Sandbank Car Park where I tested out my new toastie pan by cooking a mini pizza outdoors, and also shared my thoughts on some hiking gear I've recently added to my setup. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that don't go according to plan.
