From a police stop to reality TV: Blossoms tell the stories behind the songs

Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan take Radio X's John Kennedy through Blossoms' sixth studio album Songs From The Wedding Cake, going through the record's lyrics track by track. They discuss how the themes of marriage, everyday moments and personal relationships inform the record, how Stockport Town Hall gave the album its title and which track was written on the day the band heard that Mani of The Stone Roses had died. We also hear the story of Tom being asked for a selfie while the police pulled him over for a minor car bump near the Manchester Apollo and how Joe's wife's hungover reality TV viewing spawned a song, namely The Kardashians. #blossoms #newalbums #newmusic #trackbytrack 00:00 Intro 01:10 Joke About Divorce 07:32 Husband 11:26 Meet Me In Love 16:43 The Kardashians 23:30 Additional Driver 36:24 Fall Into You 40:39 Guts 44:35 Uma Thurman 50:42 Where Have You Been My Whole Life? 01:02:24 The Deep End Never miss a beat (or riff) by subscribing to Radio X here    / radiox   💚 Subscribe to Radio X Plus on Global Player: https://www.globalplayer.com/?bundleI...
