Spotting Psychopaths based on Language? | Do Disfluencies point to Psychopathy?

This video attempts to answer the question: Can Psychopaths be identified by language usage? There are theories that the nature of psychopathy is reflected in language to such an extent that language can aid in the identification of psychopaths. I discuss some of the findings from a few different studies on the topic. I also specifically examine the role of disfluencies (e.g. um, uh) and how they have been linked to psychopathy. Psychopaths have certain characteristics that may be detectable in language: goal orientation focusing on basic needs deficits in interpreting and experiencing emotions I review the evidence for and against this theory.
