Setting Goals in Chinese - 45 words in one song, first in English and then the same melody in Mandarin.
Learn English. Speak Chinese.
"What's your New Year's wish this year?"
你今年的新年愿望是什么?
Nǐ jīnnián de xīnnián yuànwàng shì shénme?
The song is called "Qiān Lǐ Zhī Xíng, Setting Goals".
How this song works
The song is sung twice. The first half is entirely in English so you already know what every line means. The second half is the same song, same melody, same lines - in Mandarin. Nothing is translated line by line in between, so your ear does the work instead of your eyes.
The Mandarin half is sung slower than normal pop, in standard Putonghua, with every syllable articulated and the tones kept clean. On-screen you get three lines at once: English, Chinese characters and pinyin.
This is Lesson 59 of 66, in Chapter 6: THINK, SPEAK & GROW (Advanced). The last chapter is about saying harder things well - relationships, disagreement, problems, goals, and what to do after something fails.

About the course
LINA NEU69 - Learn Chinese Through Stories & Songs. English → Chinese → Pinyin → Sentence → Story → Song → Conversation
3,000 Words · 600 Days · 66 Stories · 66 Songs
Every lesson is 45 new words built from one situation, not a random list. Nine days of five words a day become one lesson, one story and one original song that contains exactly those words - which is why the words stay once the song is stuck in your head.
All Chinese on this channel is standard Putonghua, written in simplified characters with pinyin. No slang, no dialect, no rare idioms - the register a learner actually needs, and the one that stays correct everywhere.
Every song is written and recorded for this channel. The lyrics, the music and the artwork are original work.
Who is in the story
Alex - the learner, starting from zero.
Lina - the Chinese friend who becomes the guide.
The course follows them from the first hello to a real conversation in Chinese.
