25 YEARS Coventry fans have been waiting for this… Coventry City are BACK in the Premier League! 🩵 Me and Charlie travelled down to London for our first Premier League away day of the season — and they didn’t exactly ease us in gently, did they? 😂 Champions of the Championship vs Champions of the Premier League. Arsenal vs Coventry City at the Emirates. Getting down to London was the easy part. Actually navigating London once you’re there? Absolute nightmare. 😂 But walking up to the Emirates knowing Coventry City were about to play their first Premier League game in 25 years was something special. First impressions of the Emirates were brilliant. Incredible stadium, really clean, everyone we met was friendly… and PADDED SEATS! We’re not used to this level of luxury. 😂 As for the football, we always knew this was going to be a massive test. A couple of small mistakes in the first half and suddenly we were 2-0 down. That’s the level we’re playing at now — against teams like Arsenal, you make a mistake and they punish you. There’s very little room for error. Arsenal added a third in the second half and it finished Arsenal 3-0 Coventry City. But I’m not coming away from this one feeling negative. For a lot of these Coventry players, this was their first ever taste of Premier League football, away at the reigning champions. That is one hell of a wake-up call. If we can take what we learned from this game and continue playing with the same confidence and belief against the mid and lower-table sides, I genuinely believe the results will come. This season was never going to be easy. We’re back amongst the big boys now. One game doesn’t define our season. We’re all in this together.
