OVERTHINKING | DRAMA SHORT FILM Overthinking is a story about a young independent filmmaker who is constantly immersed in the world of filmmaking. When his friend challenges him to participate in the Satyajit Ray Film Festival, he accepts the challenge and sets out to create a film of his own. What begins as a simple challenge soon turns into a journey filled with ideas, imagination, self doubt and endless possibilities. He starts writing stories, exploring different concepts and searching for the perfect idea. But with every new thought comes another question. Will he finally stop overthinking and actually finish a film? Watch the full short film to find out. Overthinking was created by Team Pixel Perfect for Vihaan 2025, representing MAAC Mira Road, and went on to win the 1st Prize Award in the competition. Inspired by the cinematic philosophy of Satyajit Ray Sahab, the film explores the idea that sometimes, all we need is a different perspective. Everyday life is filled with stories waiting to be discovered. A simple moment, an ordinary experience or a familiar person can become deeply meaningful when observed with the right perspective and transformed through thoughtful storytelling. The names and faces portrayed in the film are used purely for storytelling and narrative progression. No individual involved in the film is intended to be disrespected, misrepresented or shown in a negative manner. This is a student film created with admiration for the art of filmmaking and inspired by the storytelling legacy of Satyajit Ray Sahab. Sometimes, you do not need a bigger story.
