BMT to Toccoa River Swinging Bridge

A nice little family hike in North Georgia again. These hikes are often less about filming and more about the people and dogs I'm hiking with. It's so scenic though, so you know I have to film it! The trail has some steep parts when starting at the Benton Mackaye Trailhead on Morgantown Hwy, in Suches, GA. It's in the Chattahoochee National Forest and leads to a really amazing bridge that crosses the Toccoa River. We did the trail as an out and bag. You can take a forest service road back to make it a loop. It looked a little busy with vehicle traffic for my liking. It's a narrow road. I liked the decision to do out and back. As a bonus, since we don't usually find an abundance of wildlife on these group hikes, I'm including footage I took a couple miles down the road at our Airbnb. There WAS an abundance of wildlife there. The best scene was a deer trying to figure out what a snapping turtle is while a farm cat looked on. The deer was too intimidated buy the turtle and ran away. There were also more woodchucks / groundhogs than I've ever seen at one time. I think two were babies. There were also Canada geese and their goslings. Was a great place to stay for someone like me.
