Omanawanui Hiking Track, What a tough hiking trail

Location: In the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, on the west coast of Auckland, starting near Waitipu Beach at the entrace to the Manukau Harbour. Length and duration: About 3 km one way (or return) with climb of up to ~ 373 m. Difficulty moderate. There are steep sections, many steps and exposed ridges. Views: Stunning panoramic views over the Manukau Harbour entrance, the west coast cliffs, the rugged bush of the Waitakere Ranges. So to all my couch patatoe buddies, here is an opportunity to show what you have in that engine . Don’t forget to bring a rain jacket along, the weather can be very unpredictable at times.
