Devin Trout Returns | Touring, Recording, & What’s Next

Devin Trout returns to Look Who It Is! to catch up on everything that’s happened over the past year. Devin talks about life on the road as guitarist for Chase Matthew, touring with Jason Aldean, playing festivals like Crash My Playa and Meatstock in Australia, and watching Chase’s career continue to grow. We also get into Devin’s expanding role behind the scenes, including preparing tracks for TV performances and getting ready to head into the studio as Chase records new music with his touring band for the first time. Devin breaks down what actually goes into a live show, how the band communicates onstage, the difference between playing rhythm and lead guitar, session work, and what he’s learned from some of Nashville’s top musicians. And because it wouldn’t be a conversation with Devin without a few stories, we also talk about getting stranded on a beach in Mexico, an Aldean tour tattoo designed backstage, marriage rules when it comes to TV shows, and plenty more. If you enjoyed the conversation, subscribe to Look Who It Is! for more interviews with artists, musicians, songwriters, and people working behind the scenes in music.
