What happens when you fly fish at the base of a powerful waterfall on Oregon's Deschutes River? On this adventure, I explore the fast currents, deep pockets, and quieter seams below one of Central Oregon's beautiful waterfalls, searching for native redband trout. The fishing turns out to be surprisingly productive, with several beautiful redbands and a large mountain whitefish. But fishing this water isn't always easy. Between deep runs, submerged obstacles, and one fish that gets tangled in a logjam, there's plenty to keep me on my toes. I'm nymph fishing with a combination of Prince Nymphs, Blow Torches, and split shot to get the flies down where the fish are holding. Join me for another day exploring the remarkable trout waters of Central Oregon. Thanks for watching The Fly Also Rises! I share fly-fishing adventures on rivers, creeks, and lakes, searching for wild trout and discovering new water along the way. If you enjoy fly fishing, trout fishing, and exploring beautiful places, consider subscribing and joining me on the next adventure. #FlyFishing #DeschutesRiver #OregonTrout
