The epic narrative of Ramayan is rooted in two words, 'Ram' and 'Ayana'. 'Ram' is human incarnation of Lord Vishnu and 'Ayana' signifies journey. Thus the Ramayan unfolds through the voyage of Ram, a mortal who ascended to become Purushottam, the paragon among men transcending his own limitations.
