I am Jacob Jayaraj, a lay theologian. My purpose in this video is not to attack Fr. Arul Mani or any Roman Catholic believer. My intention is to carefully examine theological claims through Scripture, biblical exegesis, historical context, critical observation, critical thinking, and scholarly sources. Fr. Arul Mani, a Roman Catholic priest, uploaded a video discussing the subject of the “wolf.” In response, I respectfully examine some of the theological and historical claims presented in that discussion. Among the questions examined in this video: • Is the Roman Catholic Church historically the first Christian church? • What does the Bible teach about the identity and nature of the Church? • What really happened regarding the Council of Jamnia and the Deuterocanonical books? • Is there historical evidence that the Jews formally removed the Deuterocanonical books at Jamnia? • What do historians and scholars such as Jack P. Lewis Jr. say about this issue? • Is there evidence that Christians practiced prayer to Mary and the saints from the first century? • What is the earliest historical evidence for these practices? • What does Scripture teach about praying to saints or asking departed believers for intercession? • What should Christians think about bowing before statues and religious images? • Is such practice supported by Scripture, and how should we understand passages concerning images, idols, and worship? • How should we distinguish between biblical teaching, later church tradition, historical development, and theological interpretation? My approach is not to fabricate evidence or misrepresent anyone's position. Where historical evidence exists, I want to examine it honestly. Where the evidence is uncertain or disputed, I want to acknowledge that as well. This is an invitation to think critically, examine the Scriptures carefully, and consider the historical evidence. I respect Fr. Arul Mani and my fellow Roman Catholic brothers and sisters. My disagreement is with particular interpretations and theological claims... not with individuals. “Test everything; hold fast what is good.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Like noble-minded people, they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” - Acts 17:11 This video is presented for Christian theological discussion, biblical study, historical inquiry, and apologetics. #JacobJayaraj #TruthInTamil #FrArulMani #ChristianApologetics #BiblicalExegesis #Catholicism #Protestantism #ChurchHistory #BibleStudy Video Credit: Short clips used from Speaking Cross – “கத்தோலிக்க திருச்சபையும் கள்ள சபைகளும்! ஓநாய்களை அன்றே எச்சரித்த பவுல் | Fr Arul Mani”.
