15 Boxing Legends and the Fights the MAFIA Fixed… Some Mysteries Were Never Solved

A former heavyweight champion found dead in his Las Vegas home, with heroin in the kitchen and no syringe in the house. A middleweight champion who told the U.S. Senate, under oath, that he lost a fight on purpose. A contender who ate an orange from a stranger and collapsed in the ring. In this Boxing Backstage documentary, we follow 15 boxing legends and the fights the Mafia fixed, or was suspected of fixing. A heavyweight title fight with a secret partner the magazines called Mr. X. A legendary trainer struck with a lead pipe on a Boston street. A sworn statement printed in the Chicago Tribune. And the welterweight champion who called his loss "like being robbed in a dark alley," then took his title back. We follow FBI files, Senate testimony, court records, newspapers printed at the time, and the words of the people involved. When a story rests on a single account, we say so. When a fix was never proven, we say that too.
