The Fairytale Forest opened in 1952 with ten fairy tales and became the foundation of Efteling. Anton Pieck created its distinctive designs while Peter Reijnders helped bring the stories to life through movement and technology. On my first visit, I explore Long Neck, the Sleeping Giant, Holle Bolle Gijs, Pinocchio, the Indian Water Lilies and many of the strange characters hidden throughout Efteling’s Fairytale Forest.
