Raja Raja Radhite | Niroshta | Muthiah Bhagavatar | Vivek Sadasivam

Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavatar has composed many beautiful short pieces on Devi, especially in rare ragas. Here is one such rare raga Niroshta which comprises 5 notes S R G D and N. The beauty of this raga is that since it doesn't use the Ma and Pa, there is no coming together of lips when you sing the notes of the scale, hence 'Niroshta'. It's quite uncommon to come across ragas with no Ma or Pa. The composition itself is sublime, and has a chittaswaram appended to it. Hope you enjoy this on the day of Saraswati Puja. With me on stage for this concert were Vid. Nishanth Chandran, Vid. G S Nagaraj and Vid. Kartik R. To listen to weekly music, subscribe to my channel. Thank you!
