Avoiding the scales for 2964 miles

We are overloaded with Jumbo Yellow Onions but the scale at the produce plant in Prosser, WA stated that our weight was a legal weight. It was wrong and we found out after we had been heading east for 3 1/2 hours at a weigh station in Idaho. That DOT officer let me go without a ticket but I had to avoid the rest of the scales (and only keep a 1/4 tank of fuel in the tanks because if I did get caught, they sometimes give a grace period of 200 lbs). I felt like an outlaw for the entire trip across the country to our delivery in Maryland. Luckily we were delayed for a bit and that helped us avoid some severe weather across the Midwest. “Everything happens for a reason”. This was a learning experience for me.
