Poko's Story, 8 Years Later | Togo

Poko was a teenage girl who grew up in a village torn by tribal conflict. Poko’s world was shaped by fear, conflict, and the silent, spiritual darkness of idol worship. “My family was divided. I felt like I was living without purpose,” she remembers. The GodMan film was brought into Poko’s village. The animosity among villagers was so strong that our team actually had to show the film twice: once for each of the warring tribes, on separate days. The night Poko saw the film, she says, “I realized it’s because of my sin that Jesus came to die. … So that night I accepted Jesus Christ. When I went home, I told my parents the Good News, and we repented." That was eight years ago. Today, Poko is a vibrant 21-year-old young woman who is still strong in her faith and unwavering in hope!
