Following the events of Late into the Night, Michael and Doris return from their honeymoon expecting peace… but British Intelligence has other plans. Offered a “second honeymoon” in Rome, the couple soon find themselves pulled into a dangerous web of secrets, deception, and murder. What begins as a routine meeting quickly spirals into suspicion when Michael arrives to find a dead man — and no sign of the contact he was meant to meet. As the mystery deepens, an injured stranger’s final words — “late into the night…” — hint at a chilling connection to past events. With tension simmering beneath the surface, this atmospheric radio drama blends romance, espionage, and mystery into a classic slow-burn thriller where nothing — and no one — can be trusted. Perfect for fans of vintage BBC radio dramas, Cold War spy stories, and intelligent mysteries. 🎭 CAST: Michael Haywood – [Insert Actor Name] Doris Haywood – [Insert Actor Name] Tom Renshaw – [Insert Actor Name] David – [Insert Actor Name] Picton – [Insert Actor Name] Elderly Englishman – [Insert Actor Name] 📅 ORIGINAL BROADCAST DATE: Saturday 14 February 1976 at 8:30 p.m Do you enjoy the variety on Oldtuberadio?
