Wherever You Are is an original 80s-inspired AOR love ballad about distance, and the one person you still carry with you. Warm guitars, a restrained voice and a chorus that opens slowly, the way a late-night song on the radio does. It's about the train that pulled out on a Sunday, the city that feels empty without you, and the promise that no matter how far apart you are, you're still looking at the same sky. 💬 Tell us in the comments: where is your "wherever you are"? LYRICS Your train pulled out on a Sunday Just before the evening rain I stood there long after you left me Watching strangers fill the platform again I drove past all of our old places The lights were coming on downtown Funny how a city full of people Can feel empty when you're not around Every road leads back to somewhere Every thought leads back to you Wherever you are That's where my heart is tonight Under these stars We're looking at the same sky No matter how far No matter how long we're apart I'll be right here loving you Wherever you are Your picture's lying by the telephone Your sweater's hanging on my chair Sometimes I reach across the bed at night Before I remember you're not there I count the days off on the calendar Like they could make the hours move And every song that comes across the radio Somehow finds its way to you Every road leads back to somewhere Every thought leads back to you Wherever you are That's where my heart is tonight Under these stars We're looking at the same sky No matter how far No matter how long we're apart I'll be right here loving you Wherever you are Maybe love is learning distance Doesn't mean we're letting go Maybe missing someone this much Is another way to know That of all the places in this world There's only one that feels like home Wherever you are That's where my heart is tonight Under these stars We're looking at the same sky No matter how far No matter how long we're apart Every road will lead me home to you Wherever you are Wherever you are Wherever you are RELEASE Track: Wherever You Are Album: 1987 — When Summer Felt Endless Catalogue: DDR-001 Genre: AOR / Love Ballad Label: Dial Days Records Release: 2026 Written and produced by Dial Days Records. © 2026 Dial Days Records.
