INTROIT These Are They John Goss
CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: There are many who have walked the path toward God before us, showing us the way with
their lives.
People: We come to give thanks for them.
Leader: As they were called, so are we called to follow in the way God shows us through Christ,
People: Loving God with our whole being, and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
Leader: Like those who have gone before us, we are a strange mix of saint and sinner.
People: Yet trusting God’s grace and guidance, we continue to walk the road in faith.
GATHERING HYMN “The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want”
The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.
UNISON PRAYER OF INVOCATION
Dear God, we thank you that you never forsake us, that you never stop loving us. Trusting
in your unfailing love, we have gathered to worship and praise you. Through your Holy
Spirit, touch us, renew us, comfort us, challenge us; for we pray in the name of Jesus Christ,
who taught us to pray…
OUR SAVIOR’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we
forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from
evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
