I Went to The Villages to See If Golf Cart Living Is Really THAT Good

I went to The Villages, Florida, to find out if golf cart living REALLY lives up to the hype. With more than 70,000 households, roughly 105,000 golf carts, and 57 square miles, The Villages takes the golf cart lifestyle to an entirely different level. But is living in The Villages REALLY as good as everyone says? Imagine a community where golf carts aren't just for golf. They're part of everyday transportation—connecting neighborhoods, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and more. But there's a BIG difference between having golf cart access and having a lifestyle built around it. In this episode of Golf Car Living, I'm exploring The Villages, Florida, to discover what makes this one of America's most recognizable golf cart communities—and whether the reality lives up to its reputation. We're investigating: •  The Villages golf cart paths, bridges, tunnels, and transportation network. • What daily life is actually like in a golf cart community. • How far residents can realistically travel by golf car. • The culture, connections, and experiences that make The Villages different. • Homes and real estate in The Villages—and why location matters more than you might think. • Our exclusive R.I.D.E. Score, evaluating Real Estate, Interesting Facts & Features, Distances, and Explorations. Because the real question isn't how many golf carts are driving around The Villages. It's whether a golf car simply gets you places—or actually changes how you live. Could YOU live in a community designed around golf cars? Or would you still prefer driving your car?
