I’ve always been more drawn to small streams and fast pocket water, so spending a full day fly fishing a big East Tennessee tailwater was a completely different experience. The river is known for healthy populations of rainbow and brown trout, excellent insect hatches, cold tailwater habitat, and quality fishing throughout the year. We stayed on the water for a full day, caught trout consistently, explored several different types of water, and even stopped along the way to get out of the boat and fish on foot.
