Lindsay Clancy’s story is one of the most heartbreaking and difficult cases to watch unfold. In this video, I react to the Lindsay Clancy case from my perspective as a mental health therapist with 8 years of experience in the field. We’re looking beyond the headlines and discussing the mental health questions surrounding this tragedy, including postpartum mental health, psychosis, warning signs, caregiver exhaustion, and what can happen when someone’s mental state deteriorates. I also react to Lindsay’s reported journal entries, the questions surrounding the support she received before the tragedy, and the difficult reality facing her husband, family, medical providers, and everyone affected by the deaths of her three children. This conversation is not about excusing what happened. Three children lost their lives, and that reality should never be minimized.
